This is my first job — Ako Ang Simula. I got into ABS-CBN through my professor, fortunately she’s doing a new show, which is Ako Ang Simula. This is my first job and it’s really awesome (previous blog entry: The Work ). I started working 2nd week of June, and by October I was promoted to be Post-Production Supervisor. I was anxious at first, but then I have to do good so I just went on with the flow.

But before I was promoted, last field work I had was with our researcher and my good friend, Julie. We were assigned to do story about a barangay in Camiling, Tarlac. I got the chance to interview the locals and be at the site around 3 to 4 times and it was fun! (They’d even cook their special chicharon for me, nauubos ko kasi agad haha!!) Since september, I have witnessed their process of renovating the school, with Sagip Kapamilya and of course Ako Ang Simula.

Ma’am Tina-Monzon Palma wanted to renovated the old ‘Gabaldon’ type of school. It was in fact historical. The school was built 1900 something and up to know it’s still standing, but not functional. Along side with this, there will be refurbishments of the 3 existing classrooms and will be building additional two more.

And infusing the principle of Ako Ang Simula, we wanted to help, but not merely on the school construction but on the community development as well. In Ako Ang Simula, we believe in LONG-TERM and LONG-LASTING change. As what we’d always reiterate during meetings, we bring long term TRANSFORMATION.

More and more support and help came from our friends from the business sector as well as private individuals. Now, there’s so much to give for the people of barangay Bilad! Aside from the classrooms and lots of christmas presents, the team made sure that we our keep our promise of bringing long term transformation through various measures.

And to add to the fun, JM de Guzman (whom they recognize as Angelito) will be there to help in the preparation for Bilad’s big night! SPOILER: Enchong Dee also gave something to the school. And there’s much much more surprises in store for the people of Bilad. And that’s the reason why you should all watch this episode tomorrow!

Bilad is really memorable for me and believe me, this episode is really touching. Aside from our pilot episode, for me, this is the best episode we’ve made so far!

So guys, don’t miss our labor of love, tomorrow at ABS-CBN after e-live, around 3:30 or 4pm. Yes? Yes!
